1. Please follow the rules. Now, some things I'm easier on and most of this is all common sense. Still, try to follow them. None are particularly unfair, I don't think, but if you have a problem with on then contact me and we can work it out.

2. Be respectful. Now, you don't have to be freakishly nice, heck you don't even have to talk to us. Just don't go around picking fights or insulting people. This applies to staff, members, and guests.

3. We'd LOVE to hear your opinion! No, really, give us input. As long as you're nice about it we'll listen. I enjoy hearing ideas from others, so if you have any please give them! Just remember that the staff have the final say, so don't argue it.

4. No discrimination. Insulting people is bad enough, but you may not insult anyone based on their race, age, sex, sexual orientation, religion, or political standing. Also, don't insult any ethnic group (including sexual orientation). I understand joking around, but if someone is insulted then back off.

5. Your display name must be your character's name. Simple decorations are allowed, otherwise no. No tacky jacksGF~*~ or something. Keep it simple and JUST your character's name (first or nickname, last is optional). So Jane Doe or j a n e is fine. But not Jane the Pirate or JANE [rpalias]. Just so we don't get confused and it makes everything seem cleaner and nicer.

6. One character per account. Yeah, if you have to have your Display name as your character's name, it should be obvious that you're only going to have one character on the account. Again, this is simply to keep things looking nice and avoid confusion.

7. Images must be of good quality and represent your character. PLEASE for the love of my sanity DO NOT take an image larger than 100x100 and then squish it down. CROP for heaven's sake, or ask someone else to crop it, or find an icon on PhotoBucket or LiveJournal. I will remove images that break this rule! And no random images, make sure they represent your character in some way. All images must be PG13, no R-rated stuff.

8. No board-stretching, please! Icons must be no bigger than 100x100. Signatures cannot have anything wider than 500 pixels or longer than 500 pixels. Also (not board stretching, but still putting it here), no outside links in your signature! This includes other forums, youtube, devart, or basically anything not from SoyL. If your signature contains an external link or stretches the board then we'll ask for you to take it down.

9. After joining please post your profile within a week. If you don't then we'll delete you and I'll feel bad. If you post an incomplete application please finish it by the date given (one week). We'll respond to your incomplete post with the date. If you need more time contact us and we'll feed you a week. NOTE: if you apply for a canon character you will not be given more than two weeks!

10. Please be active. If we feel that there is a lot of inactivity there will be an activity check posted. Please reply there following the form. You must post at least once a week. If you have more than one character, you must show us a post from each character made within the past month (from the day you post it). Activity may slack over time, but since it's new POST LIKE WOAH! If you have read the rules then please put "wobblylegged rumsoaked pirates" in the code field of your application.

1. The post minimum is two hundred words. Yes, two hundred. I understand dry spells, where you can squeeze out maybe 160 words, but 99% of your posts must be at LEAST 200 hundred. Also remember quality; try to make your post clean, easy to read, and interesting!

2. Use proper grammar and storyline format. Make sure most everything is spelled right. Try to proof read or spell check or something. Place commas where needed, capitalize and punctuate properly, all that. Make sure it's all in paragraph form. No stars (*) or other symbols (unless for proper grammar use). Use past tense and third person (no switching tenses!). Type your posts like typing a book (simple decorations are allowed [coloring and stuff] but make sure it's not glaring).

3. If you're in a group thread follow the posting order. It's annoying to be skipped or have two people continue on for ten pages and leave people behind. You do not have to post after every person, wait your turn. If someone is taking too long (wait 48 hours at least, though) then they may be skipped UNLESS they have posted in the Hiatus board.

4. Try not to have a character in more than five topics at one time. Grant, if you have a character in six topics I won't ban you or something, but just be reasonable. And be sure to follow the timeline, the topic that you post in/make first is the topic that comes first in the timeline.

5. We're going by real time. So when it's summer in real life it's summer in the roleplay. You don't have to wait for it to be night there to post a topic at night here or anything like that, just keep to the season.

6. Character deaths are allowed. However, the death must be fair. You must give the other character at least one chance to escape (be it an accident or on purpose). NOTE: if your character dies then yes, you may roleplay in the Locker with that character.

7. No god modding or powerplaying. This includes auto-hitting (claiming your attack hit your opponent), your non-fighting character suddenly knowing how to fight, always dodging/blocking attacks, claiming an attack that hit had no affect, and controlling any part of another character (their body, thoughts, etc).

8. Be good with character relationships. Please stay true to your character, first of all. If you have a cold, apathetic, asexual character then he/she better not be in love with the first character passing by. And your perfect little princess pirate probably won't be Jack's one true love. Remember, there is more to roleplay than making your character fall in love. Lots of war and stuff going on around here!

9. No excessive sexual content. If you chose to roleplay it out, please take it to Private Message. Not everyone wants to read it and I certainly don't want it on my boards. Otherwise, just skip to the next morning or whatever.

10. HAVE FUN! YES, this is a rule! While you are here you must enjoy yourself! If you have read all the rules then please put three exclamation marks in italics ( !!! ) at the end of the codephrase.
