1. You are allowed eight characters. Four males, four females, two of each alliance (two pirates, two navies, two companies, two neutrals), and if you hope to play eight characters then two of them must be canon. This is just to keep things evened out. This may change, over time.

2. Only original characters, historical characters, and PotC canons are allowed! So no, you may not play Edward Cullen. If you're into history and know about the time period (not specified, but believed to be in the early-mid 1700's) and so wish to play some historical figure from that time period then go right ahead. Just don't play George Washington or something.

3. Your original character CANNOT be connected to a canon. NO you may not be Jack Sparrow's wife, brother, long lost daughter from the future, nor may you be Will Turner's twin sister or newly found cousin or even Barbossa's first mate. If you wish to have a relationship with a canon character create it through roleplay. NO EXCEPTIONS.

4. No hogging canons! If you play Jack Sparrow then you may not play Elizabeth Swann, too. There are very few canons in PotC (fewer important ones) and so I ask that you only choose one for the moment and, if after a couple weeks no one has claimed the canon you want, then you may apply for that canon.

5. Only active members can play canons/important characters. We can't have Barbossa MIA, can we? And we can't have Port Royal have another Governer only to have the Governer disappear. If you play a canon/important character you must be online AT LEAST three times a week and you must post AT LEAST once a week. If you play another random pirate we could care less. (kidding, please be active still, every character is important to us!)

6. Be sure to stick to the genre. So, you may not play an elf from the medieval years sent here by magic nor a fancy futuristic robot sent back in time nor a gothic vampire passing through. You may play a heathen god, a pirate, even a cannibal! Anything found in/related to/similar to PotC is allowed and while we might allow you to push the limits a bit, a total unrealistic stretch is not allowed.

7. Regarding female pirates. Alright, in the movie female characters, though clearly a bit frowned upon by some, are a bit more common so no, there is NO RESTRICTION on female pirates. However, if suddenly there are a whole bunch of female pirates and no other characters then I will start restrictions. So...ye be warned!

8. No anime faces! Only celebrities! You are not required to have a celebrity to portray your character, though it would be nice! But they must be celebrities. No anime, sketches, myspace pictures, etc.

9. No Mary-Sues/Gary-Stus! Except for Elizabeth and Will, of course. *cough* Anyways, your character's flaw cannot be that she/he is stubborn or has a temper and that's it. Ever notice how everyone loves Jack and yet he's so far from perfect it's just beautiful? Well, clearly perfection isn't the way to go. So please, some real flaws and I don't mean a flaring temper, I mean give them something RELATABLE.

10. Canons be good with history! NO WIKIPEDIAS! You must type it out yourself. And try to keep them parallel with each other. Meaning if Gibbs says he met Jack in a pub I'd hope Jack doesn't say he met Gibbs on a boat.
